DataMapper - Database Applications

The DataMapper plug-in (named “Database Applications” on the Datamap fan) is a generic tool that enables developers to build complex data driven applications and reporting tools.

DataMapper can be configured using XSL to create rich tree structures that map the data you wish to give the end user access to. User input forms, updateagrams and result views are controlled via XSL as well.

You should use the DataMapper plug-in if you have a more complex data structure, than the Database plug-in can handle, need to administrate data in other databases or if you wish to create a reporting tool for administrators.
