Debugging sites with Visual Studio

You can debug ASP.NET 2.0 User Controls, Custom XML Providers and custom ASPX pages on your Composite sites – in an asp.net based development environment this can greatly enhance productivity and code quality.

To start debugging, fill out the form below, submit it and save the resulting Visual Studio project file where you please. Once saved, use this project to access your site with Visual Studio 2005.

:

http:///

The host name is the server part of the URL you would need to supply in the IE address bar in order to access the site. This could be "localhost" for local debugging, or a remote host name.

This should be the path to the root directory of your Composite site. If you are debugging locally, specify a local path, like "C:\CompositeCms\Websites\SITE_NAME".

- save it!

Enabling remote debugging

You can find information on enabling remote debugging in the article “Enabling ASP.NET 2.0 remote debugging on Composite sites”.
